"I'd go there just for the pickled green tomatoes and hush puppies appetizer. I was born and raised in Texas City and know good seafood and Cajun cooking. This place has it!"
"Great place, great food" — one of our guests
"...pretty good if you ask me. I've never been a big fan of seafood, but I cleaned my plate here! Only complaint - they took a while to bring the food. I know it was made fresh, but with all the good starters (hush puppies, salad, cole slaw) I was almost full before my food arrived. Free ice cream is always good. The atmosphere was laid back. I'd go again."
"Good shrimp! Service was good and the prices were right for fresh seafood. If I'm in Texas City again I'll visit again"
"We used our entertainment card here, we ordered 2 shrimp sampler platters, everything was very good, and the service was great. The only weakness was it's too far from my house."
"I love the food here. Out of about 10 visits I was only disappointed once. We just love the pickled green tomatoes and hush puppies. The service is always excellent and the prices can't be beat. You'd pay much more for this kind of food at other restaurants. We drive from Clear Lake, passing many more popular seafood restaurants... but The Reef is worth the drive!"
"The best food on the Gulf Coast, or any as far as seafood goes. The "all you can eat" is served fresh to your table instead of a precooked buffet line. The prices are great, the service is great, I cannot say enough about Cajun food."
"Kids eat free! This was a big selling point. I got the blackened catfish with Pontchartrain sauce. It was great. Very tender. The rice was fantastic. We had an enjoyable meal, attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere. Kids enjoyed the fish tanks so we were able to eat a hot meal, and have ice cream for dessert. I wish it was closer to where we live but worth the drive.
"Can't beat this place. I always order the All-you-can-eat platter and I try to eat all I can. I have never found fried shrimp cooked any better than they cook them. The batter is so thin you can see the pink of the shrimp. The frog legs are tender and tasty. The fried oysters never miss the mark for freshness and flavor. I always include a portion of fried red snapper. It is consistently cooked to just the perfect texture. The only item not to my liking in their red-sauce. It has too much relish and not enough horseradish to catsup ratio. This can be overcome by utilizing the fantastic tartar sauce. Save room for the pickled green tomatoes."
"Huge menu, kids menu, senior menu, lunch menu, dinner menu, and to go menu."
